How The Academy's Virtual Certification Training Works

This is not a teleseminar or webinar but a Live Virtual Classroom Environment - In our virtual classroom, you will watch me do live design demonstrations on space planning, paint color selections, accessorizing, etc. and you will be able to ask questions and watch as I demonstrate alternative solutions to your questions. What will I learn in The Academy's Virtual Training Program?
(Homework assignments are emailed into the instructor and then posted via webinar for class discussion on our group calls. Expect between 5-8 hours of homework per week.)

WEEK 1: On our first group virtual session, you will get an opportunity to express your career desires and goals. This will help me personally guide and assist you throughout the training with your goals in mind.
We will also cover the 3 home staging services and what they entail, accessorizing, staging tips and techniques and space planning. As with every training session, students are encouraged to ask questions and offer comments. You will be given an accessorizing exercise to complete at home. Pictures of your assignments will be posted on our interactive training site for our next training session so everyone will have a chance to exchange ideas.

WEEK 2: We will discuss and review week one's accessorizing project via our interactive training system. Then we will go over typical room layouts via live video demonstration and discuss the parameters and pricing structure for staging lived-in homes. There will be time for Questions and Answers. For your homework, you will be redesigning 2 rooms of your home or a friend's home and taking before and after photos for the next weeks class.

WEEK 3: Via your computer screen, we review everyone's before and after photos of their staged rooms. Later in the session, we will go over the consultation service, how to perform the consultation and what to charge.For homework you will prepare a consultation report, watch a video on how to select paint colors, work on a portion of your business plan and create a 30 second pitch.

WEEK 4:You will have an opportunity to present your project consultation and we will go over vacant home staging strategies and pricing, and create a bid step by step for a class project via computer. For homework you will review shopping secrets and best bargains, storage and organization and what to have in your kit,and watch the insurance video and a video on getting on the first page of Google and increasing your website traffic.

WEEK 5: Our last virtual training session will cover business strategies. Marketing and promoting your new business effectively for little or no money, what to do in the first 2 weeks and the first month of your business and any last questions. For homework, you will finish reading the marketing section and take your certification quiz.

Once all of your assignments and quiz have been completed you will be a Certified Home Stager, having earned the coveted AHSC (Academy Of Home Staging Certification) and ready in hand with your 30 days to start-up agenda and all the skills you will need to begin staging homes right away.
